Pinnal translates to "braid" in the South Indian language of Tamizh. Our products do not only incorporate hand-weaving but are also an entwinement of culture, craftsmanship and carefully curated designs.
Here at Pinnal we create products using the distinguished art of hand-braiding from Tamilnadu, using Bioleather, a unique plant-based leather made from tomato waste. We can promise to offer high quality, sustainable products that aim to reduce negative environment impact. Our aspiration is to achieve the perfect balance between style and practicality.
Our Story
Coming from a family that worked with leather and combining this with a passion to create more sustainable products, Prasana came up with the idea of creating hand-braided products using Bioleather. Made using material from India and braided in Prasana’s hometown of Chennai, each product is made with utmost care.

Founder & Director
A Civil Engineering graduate with real estate marketing experience; after moving to the UK, Prasana was looking for work opportunities when he realised it was right in front of him this whole time. Having been brought up around leather, it felt natural that he gravitated towards the same world, but he was keen to ensure that the product he was creating was sustainable and thus, Pinnal was born.
