Damage & Defects

The intent of the information provided on this page is to outline the characteristics of Pinnal products. Thereby, concluding what does or does not qualify as a manufacturing defect.

What qualifies as a manufacturing defect?

Any manufacturing defect including:

  • wear and tear of the leather and lining
  • broken or missing hardware (such as pullers, zippers and hooks)
  • incorrect dimensions

What does not qualify as a defect?

  • As a result of the natural dyes, tomato leather may have slight variations in shade and colour. If two pieces from the same collection look a shade apart, it’s what makes it one of a kind.
  • The leather may have natural markings & scars.
  • The leather ages beautifully. Lighter colours will darken over time, and often depending on the sub-variety of leather may to soften in its feel with use.
  • Minimum chemical is used to protect the leather. This means, it is not 100% water, stain or scratch resistant.

Acknowledging the above, for a product to qualify a defective piece, the colour of leather or natural markings on the leather will not be accepted.
